Some people get their beauty inspiration from the fabulous editorials of Vogue or Harper's Bazaar. Me, I get my makeup inspiration from catalogs. Why? Because the focus is on the clothes and while the styling adds to the appeal and overall look, it's meant to be subtle and not detract from what's being sold.
Granted some catalogs are selling a "lifestyle" but I digress. Anyway, I keep my makeup fairly natural.
As many of you noticed, this month's J Crew catalog featured bright bold
fuchsia lips:
So I have been hunting for the perfect bright pink lip gloss/lipstick for my super pale self. Here are my favorites:
I'm a huge Tarina Tarantino fan (I saw her at a gift show one time and was so starstruck I couldn't move). Her uber-girly cartoon style jewelry is so cute and now she has a Sephora-exclusive makeup line. This gloss is the perfect shade of pink (matches Tarina's hair!) and low-tack according to the description.
Not so much of a purple, more of a hot pink/fuchsia. Love the gold case.
At only $12, the Sephora Rouge in Mr. Lover is a great buy!
Any thoughts on the bright lips?
